Fujitsu Develops Biodegradable Plastic for Mobile Phones

Fujitsu recently announced it has developed a biodegradable plastic for mobile phones in cooperation with the company Toray. The plastic, made of polylactic acid, is said to have impact resistance 50% higher than Fujitsu's existing polylactic acid plastic, which is used in notebook PCs. Fujitsu is planning to produce mobile phones made of the new plastic starting in 2007.
